Maintaining quality and developing our people means measuring
ourselves against recognized outside standards. For example, the
NVQ Level 2 forms the basis of a thorough induction for all new
employees. This Commitment to Excellence customer service programme
is covered in the first three months. It's a solid foundation in
understanding the importance of high quality customer service.
We also regularly enter the National Training Awards, with not
some little success too. Every year, we also like to promote
innovation, creativity and commitment to excellence from those on
our front line. So, our unique Macdonald Hotels High Achievers
awards recognise and reward our best waiter, bar tender, chef,
housekeeping assistant, receptionist, conference and events
co-ordinator, conference and events porter, fitness instructor and
spa therapist.
