The Courses
Portal Championship Golf Course
With 210 acres of idyllic parkland and water features, the 18-hole Portal Championship Golf Course offers a rewarding game to golfers at every level. Three holes which particularly encapsulate The Portal Championship Course are the Par 5 3rd hole with its elevated trees, 602 yards challenge and lake fronted green; the picturesque Par 3 14th surrounded by landscaped water features and the dramatic 18th with its cascading waterfall backdrop.
Take a well-earned comfort break at the Halfway House, stop for on-course refreshments at weekends and relive your game on the balcony of the Private Members' Lounge which has a bar, TV and stunning views across the course.
Portal Premier Course
Just 2 minutes from the hotel, the scenic 18-hole parkland Premier Course provides a feast for the eye as well as a challenge to golfers of all levels. With the panoramic views of the 15th overlooking the Cheshire plains and the beautiful water feature on the 17th, the course builds up to a spectacular finish with the par 5 18th hole. At 493 yards the 18th is designed for the long hitters, and you can be sure of a warm welcome at the award-winning clubhouse, where wholesome bar meals, drinks and snacks are served from 11am until closing.
Arderne Course
Our 9-hole Arderne Course presents a superb challenge for beginners and experienced golfers alike. Membership of the Portal Premier Course entitles you to discounted green fees throughout the summer at this course too.

Membership
For a limited period, we are offering membership of the Portal Premier Golf & Country Club with no joining fee. Membership of the Premier Course also entitles members to a 50% discount on summer green fees at our Championship and Arderne Course, providing an ideal opportunity to improve your game over a variety of courses. Members also benefit from a 10% discount on all items stocked in the Pro Shop, plus club and shoe cleaning, a club repair and spike replacement service.
Throughout the year we host members' competitions, golf days and lively themed social events in our clubhouse, on the course and in our onsite function rooms. Come along to a race night, Italian evening, quiz, hog roast or summer barbecue on the terrace.

Golf Lessons
If you've never played golf before or want to improve your game, book in for golf lessons with our resident golf professionals. Using their expertise and the advanced technology of our indoor golf academy, they will enhance your long and short game techniques, concentrating on pitching, chipping, putting and bunker play.
The Academy features leading 'A Star' Swing Analysis Software, a Smart Golf simulator with over 20 courses, a 6-hole putting green and bunker. PGA Professionals Judy Statham and Adrian Hill can arrange private or group tuition, or for a full day of golf tuition and competition, why not enrol in one of our Portal golf schools? Individual lessons start at £25 for 40 minutes including swing analysis, while a full day's golf school costs £75.
